The Water Works

31 Mar

Dear Brethren,

We have been having difficulty with receiving water and having enough of it to be able to do the necessary things that you need to do with water. It starts with the delivery of water; water is sent from the source to the various destinations, then it is stored by the consumer in tanks and on demand it is pumped mechanically or by gravity to the house.

The trouble for us started from the beginning; that is we were not receiving sufficient water to even fill one of the tanks. We have two tanks, one that is on the ground and the other that is elevated on a stand. Eventually there was a supply of water that came that was sufficient to fill both tanks and you can imagine the relief that we felt on now having sufficient water to be able to do the necessary things. The upper tank is a gravity fed type of situation so all you have to do is open the valve and let the water drain into the house. Well, that is how it is supposed to work. You can imagine our disappointment when we got up the next morning to discover that the upper tank had completely drained out and there was no visible evidence of where it could have gone either outside or inside the house. How do you lose 1000 liters of water and not find a trace of where it might have gone? After much discussion with several people and examining several possibilities, it was discovered that the plumbing that went underground to the house had deteriorated and was allowing the water to run out underground. Now you have to understand that this has been going on since we got here which was about three weeks. It was early on in the midst of this situation that I began to enquire of the Lord as to what was the spiritual perspective of this situation. It seems that God would very often use individuals and their personal situations to bring a word to address a particular concern that He has with His people. It can be clearly seen in the book of Jeremiah, as well as Hosea. Those are the most blatant ones, but if you look at all the stories of individuals that lived in the Bible, they in and of themselves are a prophetic word to us as a people. Their lives have been a prophetic voice that accuses or excuses us as a people concerning the word that has been committed unto us.

It was the morning of the 14th that I received a word from the Lord about our particular problem with the water. There are two facets of the situation that apply to the whole of it, both of which concern the fellowship as a whole. The first is the fellowship Universally/Globally and its involvement in the mission effort. The other is concerning the work in the mission field and what is needed to supply the water to where it must go. There are two objectives that must be achieved: one is water to the kitchen [applies to food and the preparation of it], and two is water to the bathrooms [applies to sanctification and consecration].I am also convinced that these two particular elements that are being revealed is showing us where the difficulty lies, and by showing us the problem, it also gives us the solution that can be applied wherever we may be working to establish a mission platform from which we may be able to perpetuate this gospel of the Kingdom.

Water is indicative of the Word of God, and in this particular situation we have a Word of God that pertains to the desire of God to have Sons. This word highlights the desire of God to have sons who delight in pleasing Him, their Father. It is an apostolic word that has been committed to us for this end-time. It is the same Word that was given to the Apostles, only the understanding of it has been expanded to a greater measure of fullness and now God is even bringing further enlightenment to the ministry for the edification of the Body. In our particular situation, when water comes, in order for it to be of any value it must come in sufficient quantity and pressure to fill the tanks; unfortunately, that has not been the case. If you would put this in a logistical concept and apply it to the Holy Place church, it deals with the resources necessary to provide what is necessary to facilitate the meeting of the need. This would include manpower, materials needed, as well as finances; these are elements that come from without the immediate environment. The current water shortage situation is highlighting the malady of the Holy Place Church; there is a severe lack of interest (pressure) in the promotion (quantity) to bring this message of Sonship to the mission field. As to the second problem of the pipes that supply the water to the house, it was discovered that the pipes in and of themselves were completely rotten and rusted out and all the water was running, not leaking, into the ground under the concrete. It means the resources of the Holy Place church are being funneled into “other things,” things of little consequence that are not in line with the objective of God for the time frame in which we live [Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.]. All that is being accomplished with it is that it is just being wasted. It is not just leaking, it is running out and it is not getting to the right places [Hag 1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.] “…and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.I would suggest that you read the first part of the chapter because it deals with the building of the house of God. It is a building not made with hands.

The scripture is very specific when it comes to a man and his own salvation. God told Gideon that he, Gideon, was to bring the people down to the water, and there He, God, would try them. I wonder if anyone has ever looked that word “try them” up. I haven’t, at least not until today. In the Greek it isצרף  sâraph tsaw-raf’ A primitive root; to fuse (metal), that is, refine (literally or figuratively): – cast, (re-) fine (-er), founder, goldsmith, melt, pure, purge away, try. It suggests something that is done by intense heat, and then in some manner is beaten with a hammer to make it “weld/fuse” to another piece of metal. It reminds me of the Lampstand in the Holy Place church. It was to be made out of one piece of beaten gold. The branches were welded or fused to the stem by means of a hammer. Exodus 25:31, And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work H4749(H4749 מקשׁה miqshâh mik-shaw’ Feminine of H4748; rounded work, that is, moulded by hammering (repousse): – beaten (out of one piece, work), upright, whole piece.), or perhaps it was just one piece of Gold that was hammered and beaten into its particular shape. However it might have been done, what that translates to is something that is a very hard choice, something that is extremely painful, something that is going to wind up costing you a bundle. We, the Holy Place Church, are in what my mother would call the “valley of decision.” Will we drink the water from the hand, or will we lap it as a dog would lap.

Because He is and by virtue of His Blood I am your Brother in Christ,
Brother Burt
